Stop 9: South Bowl and The Pavilion

In its early days, UC Merced’s undeveloped land to the south was called The Bowl. The Merced 2020 Project changed that dramatically, adding numerous buildings for education, research and housing. Looking from east to west, you can see the buildings for Biomedical Science and Physics; Sustainability, Research and Engineering; and Arts and Computational Sciences. The sleek building with the big windows overlooking Little Lake is The Pavilion, a dining center with six distinct menus and dishes ranging from hamburgers to sushi bowls. Farther to the west are the new residence halls you saw earlier in the tour.
